The children were sleeping asleep in their cribs while I was strapped in with one of them to my back. Ha! The house was getting closer to completing, however the project was still a distance away. It would take a lot of money effort as well as my favourite brands of furniture interiors to decorate this place. In order to stay in the realm of budgets, I took to by taking my sons to estate sales in search of diamonds. We would go from the week of Thursday through Saturday at garage sales and estate sales buying brand new furniture. Then I stenciled and polished in the driveway during the workweek. It was kind of like the following... Here is the place where my passion for the restoration of antique furniture began. After our home was fully furnished, I still couldn't quit! There was a place on the market in town that I could sell my pieces. In the end, I had lots of pieces, I didn't have a clue what to do with them and I outgrew my space. I held open houses in my home where one 000 visitors would pass through on a single weekend. the visitors were able to purchase items on the ground level. Growing Days was founded in my home. As my business flourished as did our family. Finding the balance was important for me. I wanted to be both a mom and also a successful business owner. Growing Days was the obvious decision. My daughter Nora became our fourth child. While I was pleased about the direction my company took, I felt like I was in need of an occasional break. I decided to stop working on my antique furniture and be at home with the children. That was exactly what I was looking for at the moment. After a couple of months, my phone started to start to. I was getting calls from people seeking help for decorating their homes and interior renovations. These people had mostly been to my home during open houses for furniture. As I went along I began adding clients to my list one by one. However, it didn't take long before I had multiple clients and ran an extremely successful business of home renovation. If you had told me that this business of mine could become the premise of a tv show that airs on the DIY Network I probably would have been astonished. In fact, I laugh slightly when I recall the episode.
