Jenna Fischer was best known for her portrayal of Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. The role she played has earned her an Emmy nomination for best supporting Actress category and she also was awarded two SAG Awards, both for extraordinary performances on an ensemble comedy.
Her mother, Anne, was a performer in church theater when she was young that instilled a love for theater and performances in Jenna. Jenna was a child who watched her mother, Anne performing in church plays. The experience instilled an interest in theater.
Fischer is an actress who has theatre training. She starred in the Off-Broadway production Reasons to Be Happy that was directed and written by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, and Fred Weller. In the Old Globe Theatre's premiere, she starred alongside Greg Germann as well as Josh Stamberg in Steve Martin's comical comedy Meteor Shower.
The Office actress Angela Kinsey, Fischer's real-life friend and castmate, launched Office Ladies in October 2019 on Earwolf. The podcast became wildly successful, ranking in the Top Ten of the world every week. It had more than 200 million downloaded during its first two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She's written two books: The Actor's Life, a Survival Guide in which she describes her experience in Hollywood acting as a professional and Office BFF's, Tales of The Office From Two Great Friends who Were There, a memoir of the best relationship they shared as well as their experience in The Office.
